Soulehe Boutique Diaries #5: We Opened Our First Boutique!

Saturday was THE day. 12.09.2026

The day we had been talking about, planning for, working towards and slightly panicking about for weeks.

Soulehe Boutique Opening Day.

Oehhh.

Hans and I had been waiting for this day for so long, but honestly, towards the end we also just wanted it to finally BE HERE. 😂

We wanted the pressure of getting everything ready to be over. We wanted to reach that moment where there was nothing left to build, paint, order or organise.

And somehow...

WE DID.

The Night Before

By Friday night, all of the important things were finally finished.

At around 10pm, we peeled the pink covering off our front doors.

We tested the TV.
We stood there looking at everything.
And...
Oh. My. God.
It looked SO good. 🥹

After weeks of seeing tools, boxes, furniture pieces and unfinished displays everywhere, we were finally looking at the actual Soulehe boutique.

Ready to open.

We went home knowing our alarms were set for 6am so we could come back and prepare everything for the morning.

Very responsible.
Nice early night.
Lots of sleep before the biggest day.
Except...

neither of us really slept. 😂

I think I got maybe four or five hours, if that.
But honestly, who cares?

It was OPENING DAY.

Saturday Morning

We were incredibly lucky to have some of our lovely friends helping us with the final preparations that morning.

There were still those last little things to do, because apparently you can never actually be completely finished. 😂

One of the final jobs was putting our new opening hours on the door.

Soulehe Boutique is now open:

Monday to Friday: 10am to 5:30pm

Our Saturday opening hours will vary depending on the season, but we're hoping to open around two Saturdays each month.

We'll always keep our current weekend opening hours updated on our social media and Google, so you can check before coming in. 🤍

And then...
It was time.
The red carpet went outside.
The OPEN sign went up.
And after all of those weeks of work...
We opened the doors.

Our Very First Customer Was... Brenda 😂

I still can't get over this.

The very first customer to walk into the Soulehe boutique was a woman named...

BRENDA.

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?!

I've lived in Australia for seven years and honestly, I don't think I've met another Brenda here.

And somehow the first customer through the doors of my first boutique was Brenda.

I feel like that had to be some kind of sign. 😂🤍

And from there, the day just...
went.

People came through the doors.

There were congratulations, conversations, jewellery being tried on, people discovering the boutique for the first time and so many incredibly kind words.

I don't really know how to put into words what that felt like.

You spend weeks working inside a space and looking at every tiny detail until you almost can't see it properly anymore.

And then suddenly other people are standing inside it.

Looking around.
Smiling.
Complimenting the space.
Picking up the jewellery.
And telling you how much they love it.
That was probably the moment when it started to feel real.

Thank You. Seriously. 🤍

I need to stop here for a second and say a HUGE thank you to every single person who came.

You made this day so incredibly special for us.

And not only the people who were able to physically come to the boutique.

Our inboxes were full of messages, congratulations and beautiful words from people who couldn't be there but still took the time to think of us and send us something.

I still haven't managed to reply to everyone.

But I WILL.

And just know that I'm probably reading your message another three times and getting emotional about it by myself. 😂🥹

The fact that you took a little moment out of your day to wish us luck or congratulate us genuinely means so much to me.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

The Boutique Turned Out EXACTLY How I Imagined It

Actually...
Maybe even better.

I had been imagining a Soulehe boutique in my head for years.
I knew how I wanted it to feel.

I knew I wanted it to be light, beautiful, colourful and full of details.
But seeing the finished space is completely different from imagining it.

Hans actually said something that made me laugh.
He said he doesn't really know what he had pictured in his head when we started...

but what we created is SO much better than anything he imagined. 😂
So I think it's safe to say we're both very, very happy.

There are still so many little details from the boutique transformation that I haven't shared with you yet, and I'll go back to those in the next Boutique Diaries posts.

But for now...
Back to Opening Day.
Because we had some FUN. 👀

The Discount Wall

This was definitely one of my favourite things we created for Opening Day.

Our discount wall had different discounts waiting inside, and when it was time to make a purchase, customers got to choose theirs.

And people LOVED it.

There was this little moment of excitement every time someone had to choose.

Which one?
What's inside?
How much did I get? 😂
It made something as simple as a discount so much more fun.
Honestly, I think it might be one of my favourite sale ideas we've ever done.
But then...

There was the LOCKBOX.

THE $350 LOCKBOX 🔐

I don't know why I was this excited about someone ELSE winning a prize.

I swear I was acting like I had a chance of winning the $350 myself. 😂

For Opening Day, we made 100 unique Lockbox codes.
One code would open the box.
And inside was a $350 Soulehe Voucher.

We had absolutely no idea when the winning code would be picked.

And then...
It happened.
I think the $350 prize was won within the first two hours, possibly even earlier.
And THE REACTION.
Oh my god.

I genuinely don't think we could have asked for a better reaction. 😂🥹

I'm sharing that moment on our Instagram and Facebook, because you NEED to see it for yourself.
It was SO good.

And once the $350 voucher had been won, we realised something.

The boutique was still open for another few hours.
The Lockbox was sitting there.
We were having way too much fun with it.
So...
Why stop? 😂

So We Put Another $100 In The Lockbox

We decided to add a second prize.

A $100 Soulehe Voucher.

And eventually...

That one was won too.

But this one made me especially happy.

Sometimes things just seem to go exactly where they're supposed to go.

The person who won our $100 voucher has been supporting Soulehe since our very first market.

Every time I released a new polymer clay earring collection, she would come and buy another pair.

And another.

And another. 😂

I would guess she owns more than 25 pairs of Soulehe earrings by now.

So when she ended up with the winning $100 Lockbox code...

I was SO happy.

Honestly, both prizes went to such wonderful people and I couldn't be happier for our winners. 🤍

And There Was One More Opening Day Surprise...

Everyone who purchased Soulehe jewellery on Opening Day also received a:

And that voucher is valid for the next two weeks.

The final day to use it is:

We don't run sales very often at Soulehe.

So when we decided to celebrate our boutique opening, we decided to do it properly. 😂

So... Was Opening Day A Success?

YES.

A very, very big yes. 🥹
It was fun.
It was emotional.
It was exhausting.
It was exciting.
And it was one of those days I think I'll remember for a very long time.

After all of the stress, the late nights, the painting, building, deliveries, furniture, signs, displays, price tags, cleaning, organising, changing plans and wondering whether everything would actually come together...

it did.

And I don't think it has fully sunk in yet that we actually did this.

Hans and I opened a Soulehe boutique.

A real one.

Our own little Soulehe space here in Griffith.

And you came.
You shopped.
You celebrated with us.
You sent messages.
You cheered us on.
And you made our first day more special than we could have imagined.

And We're Only Getting Started... 👀

Opening Day might be over, but I promise you...

We're not done.

I still have SO much to share about how the boutique came together, the little details you haven't seen yet and everything that happened behind the scenes.

And...

We already have another little something in the works. 👀

I won't tell you too much yet.

But we're planning something fun at the boutique soon, and this one will have very limited spots available.
